Beware of the Giant Bean

So I’m still not a vegetarian.
But I tried my 1st fast-food veggie burger.

veggie burger
It tasted like a giant bean.

Which is to say, it tasted alright.
If you like big thick, bean cake with your pickles.

Long story short: it might have to grow on me.

Any suggestions for spicing up said-bean-patty (that do not involve sprinkling hamburger meat on it, although the way your mind works is just brilliant) would be truly appreciated.

  • Congrats, Sarah! I know what you mean, Burger King’s veggie burger isn’t the best either. Where did you get your’s? There are much better options in some grocery stores, like Boca and GardenBurger. If you ever go to Red Robin, their GardenBurger option (which you can subst. for any burger) is truly phenomenal. By the way, to answer your question, when I go to Burger King and get the veggie burger, I ask them to make it like a Whopper. My wife taught me that trick, and it adds a lot of flavor and (relatively) fresh veggies – Ben

  • ranch dressing seems to do the trick, or those green italian deli peppers…i eat a lot of lettuce wraps and i’ve gotten use to the lack of flavor.
