Because, as my husband puts it, I am a relationship junkie, I loved this post. Saw a glimpse of you that I hadn't seen before. Thanks for sharing this part of your life. Amen to all of it.

Really like your heart behind this Sarah.

It's like you have two choices: get bitter or get better. We can do so much good and show so much love if we just try, even a little bit.

Happy Valentine's Day!

For a hard-hitting, softhearted, humorously serious, original anti-Valentine's poem composed just this week, take yourself on over here -->

http://markingtime4now.wordpress.com/2012/02/13/february-keeps-you-honest-orig-poem-by-m-nielsen/

Here are the opening lines, an excerpt:

February keeps you honest.
Even as the pace and pretense of the rest of the year
breaks down in the express lane,
still you get up and go to work each day,
going through the motions,
waiting.

It's not what one would call super "positive". But expressing irritation patiently, and the challenge of our journey through this time of year, still has the potential of building community, ...of saying "you're not alone" to anyone who feels similarly.

Thanks for the giddy spirit of debate, Sarah! Great stuff.

-Mark

p.s. You ain't so skinny... (wink wink, from a chubby white boy)

Thanks @Jeff. It's nice to hear some of the less than sensational stories more typical of the publishing world. :) And Brandon sent me his book. It's well done for sure. Nice hearing from you!
