The first message I ever received from Renee Johnson said just this:

“How do I NOT know you?!?!”

When I checked out her bio, her website, her book, I got what she meant.

• Renee is a spirited twenty-something.

• She has a background working in Outreach Events.

• She wrote a book for twenty-something people of faith.

It does sorta seem like we were supposed to meet somewhere along the way.

I’ll give her that.

I’ll also give her that Faith Book of Jesus: Connecting With Jesus Daily, her high-powered, internet-savvy twist on daily devotions, is a step beyond the Daily Bread pamphlets you might imagine when you hear the word “devotional”.

The daily reads, spun by the “devotional diva”–the title attached to Renee’s name, are short and sweet. Simple. To the point.

Reading them could be the one simple thing in a person’s day.

And I like that.

I like simple.

Also, every daily blurb comes with the following:

• Bible reference to explore the theme further
• Prayer – to spur growth related to the theme
• Online community question – a prompt such as “Do you need a touch from Jesus? Please visit www.faithbookofjesus.com and
  click on “Community” to share.”

Gathering twenty-somethings together to rub spiritual elbows online?

I like that too.
