Your Brain Works Great. It Just Doesn’t Work the Way You Think It Will.

Have you ever accidentally put your keys in the freezer? Or hit your car remote, thinking–momentarily–that it would unlock your front door? These are examples of how your brain functions in ways you don’t expect. The good news is, ultimately, for all it’s quirkyness, Dean Burnett claims the brain is trying to serve you well.

Dean is a neuroscientist working as a lecturer and tutor for the Centre for Medical Education at Cardiff University and dabbles in stand-up comedy. He then began combining science and comedy to write humorous takes on topical science stories. This eventually resulted in a regular blog on the Guardian. His Brain Flapping blog there has over 13 million readers.

There are several ways to listen to the Truth or Dare podcast–all free of charge. You can learn about those here.
