Find Me on the Hill
I'm not going to lie. I'm a slow and scattered poster every holiday season.
There are too many meals to gather around.
Too many kids to snuggle with.
Too many fireplace blazes to behold.
Too many snowpiles to sled.
In February and March, I'll be wrapping up two writing projects to be released in 2013, along with some new blog series to share them with you.
Through the holiday season though? You can find me on the hill.
Where Will It Go?
Like a lot of writers, I tend to imagine my work is more insulated than it is.
That it is mostly just me and my laptop locked away in a room somewhere, apart from civilization. I realize, of course, that there are readers somewhere, but I always picture them snatching my books off the shelves from hundreds of miles away...not right next door.
The Donkey in the Living Room ended that illusion.
Like a lot of projects I'd been part of, I posted links to this self-published children's book ...
A Christmas Invitation
Peaceful winter mornings, come.
With your crisp leaves and cool breeze.
And colored lights dancing on the ceiling.
Invite us into family.
Into the warmth of broken bread and full cups.
Into shared laughter, sparkling eyes and waking under the same roof once again.
Welcome us to the eternal manger where Christ is reborn in us.
Do You Always Need To Be Right?
Always have to be right? Some personality types can enjoy engaging intense debates in a spirit of friendship. For some though, aggressive behavior and devil's advocate turnabouts feel just like bad customer service.
Kick to the curb?
Is it time to kick them to the curb? Some questions to consider before making that decision.
