Blogosphere Be Scorned

  • I have no excuse for not blogging the last two days.
  • I’ve been dabbling in my next book, watching movies, and finding reruns of tv series I never bothered watching.
  • I’ve been galavanting around several different zoos and traipsing through all my STORY to do lists (which, for me, is a little like working in a candy store – it’s work, but it’s soooo fun).
  • Mostly, I’ve been getting lost in a lot of little life moments, like when the Emperor pretends the wind gusts from the floor fan are propelling him around the room.
  • And how he learned the word “Cowboy” this week, which he has repeated no less than two thousand times since acquiring.
  • I’ve been having mini-reunions left and right, having breakfast and lunch and ambiguous meals just because with every friend in town.
  • And really, getting back to my lack of blogging, I know not everyone believes me, but summer is absolutely stunning in Michigan.
  • I wouldn’t blame you, Michiganers, if you didn’t read my blog every day either. Sometimes, blogosphere be scorned, you just have to follow that urge to throw a frisbee and see where it takes you.

Just found your blog recently, but enjoyed your “dear church” book a while back (i’m a young adults pastor)… glad that I found it!

Hey Rob. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. It’s always funny when I run across people who connected to me as a result of that book since it now feels so long ago. Glad to be connected on here!

I recently found your blog … somehow … and I appreciated your gentle reminder that even/especially us avid bloggers need to get a life, to shut down the laptop, to play, to explore, to engage, to rest, to savor the moment with the flesh and blood people in our world.

All these things are essentials for wellness, for a balanced life … I am so passionate about this huge need!

Thanks for your encouragement to stop and smell the roses along the way …

Hey, nice to meet you, Linda. Summer is my “kickback” time. Admittedly, it still probably doesn’t look like relaxing for most of the human race, but it’s a good blend of chilling and projects that sometimes is way more satisfying than churning out the blog entries.

Thanks for relating! I’ll check out your site!
