Play time: two words that inspire imagination, inspire laughter, inspire dreams. There is a place that remembers play time. It was built for it. Nestled at the base of the Grand Traverse Bay stands Traverse City, carved from the emerald green hills, the bay waters a little warmer, the wind a little softer, the sand a little more playful. Pure Michigan began with a 2006 advertising campaign featuring the voice of comedian Tim Allen. The campaign was intended to promote tourism, but in doing so, it also captured a way of life–a way of abandoning busyness and getting back to what matters.
