For the last few weeks, we’ve been exploring what to do about bullying. Below are some important, leading resources on the changing nature of harassment in schools and online, including a wealth of advice on what to do if you or someone you know is being mistreated.

1. The Bully Expert – Find a nationally certified bullying expert in your area.

2. Video lecture from Rosalind Wiseman at TedX Teacher’s College – This lecture coaches adults on creating a school culture that provides dignity for all students.

3. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center – This site offers resources for teaching kids about bullying and explains state laws related to the subject. There is also information about what parents can do if their child is being bullied.

4. Education.com: Bullying at School and Online  – This is a resource for both teachers and parents on what to do to help a bullied child.

5. Teaching Tolerance: Bullying – This resource presents guidelines and activities for teachers to help teach students K-12 about dealing with mistreatment.

6. The Human Rights Campaign’s Welcoming Schools Guide – This guide assists school administrators, educators,  parents and other caring adults to make sure their elementary schools welcome all students and families. 9. Bullying- It’s Not OK – This website which is maintained by the Massachusetts Medical Society explains the concept of bullying and offers a list of tips for dealing with harassment.

10. Exploring the Nature and Prevention of Bullying is a report by the US Department of Education. It includes  a quiz to explore concepts related to bullying and displays practical research to help readers understand the prevalence of bullying and common motivations behind it.

11.Highmark Healthy High 5-Bullying– This is a helpful list of organization and definitions, books and guides about bullying and how to deal with it.

12. The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program – This program from the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence is a universal intervention for the reduction and prevention of bully/victim problems.

13. Stop Bullying Now  – This site was created especially for adults and kids. Find assistance related to bullying awareness, prevention, and intervention.
